In February 1993 a truck bomb exploded in the car park of the South Tower of the World Trade Center. The FBI, CIA and other US enforcement agencies began a hunt for the perpetrators and concluded in the identification of Osama Bin Laden as the main figure behind this and other attacks. A plan was drafted to capture Bin Laden but the consequences of its failure would be realised years later.
